Brakes deserve particular attention because long journeys can involve different road conditions and extended periods of driving. Unusual noises, vibrations, or changes in braking behavior should be inspected before departure rather than ignored.

The interior should also be organized before departure. Heavy items should be secured properly, and luggage should not block the driver's view. Comfortable seating and planned rest stops can make long journeys less tiring.
