Thinking about bringing home a fluffy, flat-faced companion? Even before you fall for those big round eyes, it's best to know what you are committing to, monetarily. The price of the Persian cat in India, before it gets stickered, isn't just a fixed figure, it can vary due to various factors including the city they are being sold in, the cat's coat color, the type of face he or she has and the reputation of the breeder. Here is a breakdown of the cost of the initial kitten through what you will need to spend a month on to have your Persian happy and healthy for 12-15 years, all the way until you are about to welcome another furball.

In this guide, you’ll find out the Persian cat price in India, price variation, the pricing respective to color and type, cost of initial setup, monthly expenses, healthcare expenses, and what factors affect the budget of buying a Persian cat.

What Is the Average Persian Cat Price in India?

In India, a Persian cat is priced on average from ₹10,000 to ₹50,000, while most healthy and pet quality Persian cats with verified Persian breeders are sold between ₹15,000 to ₹35,000. While the price of a kitten might seem appealing (₹5,000 - ₹10,000), it is important to recognize that many of these kittens are often obtained without a report of vaccination or guarantees of health - and are likely to end up costing much more if you have to cover more vet bills in the future.

Let's take a quick look first, then look in more detail:

• Pet-quality kitten (verified breeder): ₹15,000 - ₹35,000

• Unverified/classifieds kitten: ₹5,000 - ₹10,000

• Doll face Persian: ₹15,000 - ₹35,000

• Punch face Persian: ₹25,000 - ₹50,000+

• Show-quality/pedigree Persian: ₹50,000 - ₹80,000+

• Adoption fee (shelter/rescue): ₹1,000 - ₹5,000

While Cog Breeding India does have a central breeding registry (KCI), there is none for cats. As such, pricing is largely dependent upon the reputation of the cat breeder, the quality of the cats' coats and the available cat pedigree documentation, not on official pedigree certification.

Persian Cat Price in India by City

The price you will be quoted a Persian kitten can vary significantly across India due to breeder densities and demand of the kitten. Cities having a lot of registered breeders, like Delhi,

Mumbai and Bangalore, tend to be at the higher end, whereas the less the number of registered breeders in the city, the more affordable they will be but options may be limited.

Persian Cat Price by Colour and Coat Type

Eye and coat colours are the major movers among the Persian cats available in India. Be prepared for the following:

• White Persian cat price in India: ₹15,000 - ₹35,000 (blue eyed white Persians may be a higher price, sometimes rising up to ₹40,000+)

• Black Persian cat price: ₹12,000 - ₹30,000

• Golden Persian cat price: ₹18000 to ₹50000, Golden Persian cats from metro breeders can be purchased for ₹55000 to ₹80000 if a show cat is to be selected.

• Grey Persian cat price: ₹12,000 - ₹28,000

• Blue Persian cat price: ₹15,000 - ₹32,000

• Persian cat blue eyes price: value generally ₹18,000 and more as blue eyed cats are in great demand which are carefully bred.

• Himalayan Persian cat price: Himalayan Persian cats which makes them valuable, and their price would be upwards of ₹20,000 - ₹45,000.

Colour is not the most important thing: face type plays a part. Typically, a doll face Persian cat will be priced lower (₹15,000-₹35,000) because the face is more along the lines of naturally produced cats, while a flat-faced "punch face" Persian may be more expensive (₹25,000-₹50,000+) depending on the demand because they have a more pronounced flat furry face). The flat face "punch face" Persians, however, have more potential for eye and respiratory issues and it plays into the price as well, so buyer beware.

What Factors Affect Persian Cat Price in India?

Several factors impact upon the actual Indian price of Persian cat:

1. Breeder reputation and documentation - Health testing, vaccination records, and deworming history all add to the price, but reduce your future vet risk.

2. Coat and eye colour - Prices increase 20 - 40% for very rare or popular colour coat and eye colours (golden, chocolate, blue eyed white).

3. Face type - They are costly if the face is a punch face-style, versus doll face structure.

4. Age - As with dogs, kittens are more expensive because demand outweighs the availability of kittens and it is easier to teach them.

5. City and demand - in general, the higher the number of breeders and buyers of pigs, the higher the price at the city level.

6. Pedigree and lineage - lines of show quality bloodlines or championship parentage have a distinct value.

7. Vaccination and health examination - A pre-vaccinated, vet-checked kitten costs more upfront but is safer long-term.

Completely applicable principle here: No kitten should cost you ₹10K to ₹12K, if they don't have any health records, because bills for any such non-recorded kitten can quickly wipe away your "savings" of that amount.
