Your First COD MW4 Gold Weapon Starts Here with U4GM
Gold is the first major checkpoint in Modern Warfare 4's Completionist camo path, but the final match requirement isn't the only part worth planning around. Each weapon has eight Military camos and three Special camos to earn before its Gold challenge appears. The Special tasks are often where a routine needs to change: one gun may call for mounted eliminations, while another asks for hipfire kills or a particular attachment. Players looking for a focused place to practise may come across MW4 Bot Lobbies, but Gold still comes down to completing the challenges shown in game.
Read the Special challenges before you grind
Once the weapon reaches the required levels, its three Special camo challenges become available. Check all three before jumping into a match. That small step can save time: if a task calls for a suppressor, fit one before you start chasing eliminations; if it asks for mounted kills, choose cover and sightlines that make mounting practical. Hipfire challenges call for a different setup again. You can earn these camos in Multiplayer or DMZ, and each completed challenge unlocks its camo across modes. There's no need to finish them in one session, so tackle the awkward task when the right map or match turns up.
Level the weapon while you work
The eight Military camos unlock as weapon experience raises the gun through its level milestones. They don't require separate kill types, so you can build progress by using the weapon naturally. Objective modes can help: Hardpoint and Domination keep players moving toward contested areas, while a double XP token can make a session count for more. Still, don't burn through matches without checking your progress. A quick look at the weapon screen tells you whether you're close to the next level or should switch to another gun for a while.
Pick the Gold challenge that suits your pace
After all eight Military and three Special camos are complete, the Gold challenge opens. The choice is straightforward: Multiplayer requires 15 eliminations in a single match; DMZ requires 100 eliminations in one deployment. Small maps and quick respawns can make the Multiplayer target feel manageable, especially in Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, or Domination. DMZ offers a steadier route for players who prefer a longer run, and its computer-controlled targets count toward the total. That can suit heavier weapons, including sniper rifles and launch systems, when player encounters make a match harder to control.
Use each Gold unlock to plan the next one
A simple routine keeps the grind from feeling scattered: check the weapon's level, pick one Special challenge to focus on, then choose the Gold mode that fits your weapon and play style. If a DMZ deployment is going well, keep an eye on your remaining eliminations before heading to the next area. If Multiplayer is the better fit, queue for a mode with frequent engagements rather than waiting for action. Gold on one firearm is a starting point; earning it across a weapon class opens the way to higher Completionist rewards such as Platinum, Harmonic Break, Divergence, and Mastery. Some players may also look into cheap Bot Lobbies MW4 while deciding how to practise, but the camo milestones themselves remain the guide.
