The Oden doesn't hit quite as hard after the first major weapon tuning pass, and that's likely to be felt straight away in close fights. Its neck and upper torso multipliers have dropped to 1.1, while lower torso damage has also taken a hit. If you've been relying on it to finish fights quickly, it's worth spending a few minutes with your build before jumping back into a match. Players using MW4 Bot Lobbies can take that opportunity to get used to the new damage profile and see whether the Oden still suits their play style.

Range changes don't tell the whole story

The Han 86 has a different problem. Its maximum damage range has climbed from 1,120 to 1,200, but its neck and upper torso multipliers have each fallen by 9 percent. That extra reach is useful, though it won't always make up for weaker hits higher on the body. It's still a dependable rifle; it just has more competition now. The Kastov 762, for example, gets an 11 percent increase to its maximum damage range, taking it to 1,050. Give it a try on maps with longer sightlines. Meanwhile, the Oden's Sentinel Apex attachment has lost range in both its maximum and first mid-damage bands, so its users have more than one adjustment to consider.

More forgiving options up close

SMG players have reason to look at the ISO Nightshade and VEL 46 again. Both receive a 5 percent increase to arm and hand damage multipliers, making those awkward hits during a fast strafe less punishing. The ISO's arm and hand multipliers now sit at 0.95. Here's a quick comparison of the changes most likely to affect your next loadout:
Weapon | Main change | What to expect
Han 86 | More range, weaker upper-body hits | A solid rifle with less room for error
ISO Nightshade and VEL 46 | Higher arm and hand multipliers | More reliable close-range damage
Oden | Lower torso multipliers and attachment range | Slower finishes in some fights.

Attachments and other weapons worth testing

The Hyeon Burst's Hyperburst Apex now deals 34 maximum damage in full-auto, but its maximum damage range rises to 1,220. Its first mid-damage range has been removed, too. That's a trade worth testing rather than judging from the numbers alone. On the Patriot XMR, the EXP Haste 80L light barrel and FJX Fury IV skeleton grip have smaller recoil control penalties, which should make handling-focused builds easier to manage. LMG users have changes to consider as well: the APOC-338 loses some damage and range, while the FiNN gives up range and upper-arm damage. The Type 73's Assault Apex gains minimum damage. For shotgun players, the Warlord's 12G Slug Rounds lose some of their second mid-damage range.

Give your loadout another look

Weapon stats aren't the only thing affecting fights. Quick Fix health regeneration now stops when you take damage, and Possum can't be activated while the opposing team is nearby or before four minutes have passed. Those changes may alter decisions you'd usually make without thinking. Before ranked play, try a favourite setup in the firing range or a private match and pay attention to where your shots land. If you're considering cheap Bot Lobbies MW4, use the practice time to compare a familiar weapon with something you've overlooked. A few different engagements can tell you more than one clean target test.
